Bringing her valuable skills in designing and developing technical solutions to industry, government an community challenges, we welcome Dr Alice (O’Connor) Kesminas to the Infrastructure platform.
With 15 years’ experience enabling digital transformation for government and the private sector via spatial solutions, Dr Kesminas joins the platform as the Senior Enterprise Fellow alongside the platform academic lead, Prof Abbas Rajabifard. For the last two years, Dr Kesminas has been working with Melbourne School of Engineering’s Centre for Spatial Data Infrastructures and Land Administration, Centre for Disaster Management and Public Safety and industry partners to develop research projects in the areas of smart cities, land administration modernisation, digital twins, and urban planning. Dr Kesminas was the 2018 recipient of the Thornton Smith Medal – a medal celebrating the contributions of graduates of the department to the Geomatics industry:
in recognition of the vision and great impact Alice has had on digital innovation in our industry and beyond, and in her role in next-generation renewable energy services and prior projects.
Dr Kesminas will play a lead role in working with a range of stakeholders to assist the Infrastructure Platform to develop advanced solutions to integrate whole-of-life, and whole of society implications into the development of new infrastructure, and improved management of infrastructure that already exists.
